"We are the Music Makers, and we are the Dreamers of Dreams."

My Teaching Philosophy

My degree is in Music Education with a Concentration in Special Education.
I deeply believe in the power of music and I strive to teach with kindness, positivity, and inclusivity. I hope to provide meaningful, engaging, musical interactions for my students to form a lifelong love of learning, creativity, and musicianship. I wish to make my students feel confident, valued, and important. I hope that my students learn the value of music, and all of the different things it can teach and inspire. My goal is to foster an inclusive community where all of my students feel safe and welcome to participate in creativity every day. My experience working with many different students has given me the skills to adapt any lesson for different kinds of learners. I recognize that the way I understand something might not be the best way for one of my students to understand. I am incredibly passionate about finding what works best for each student so that they can all be successful and gain something valuable out of music. Oftentimes musicians are judged by performances; and performances can be wonderful and truly rewarding! But I believe it’s within the process of learning that students get the most knowledge and insights. I love how musical experiences can provide agency to individual students to discover and learn on their own, and I hope to help my students develop their skills and discover their own passion for music!
